The Transfer Efficiency of Government Support Programs

Research Summary

This research will address the overall efficiency of government support programs in the support of the income and wealth position of producers. It will provide estimates of the short term and long term efficiency of support programs as well as a Provincial breakdown of these effects. This will allow Agricultural and Agri-food Canada to assess how well support programs benefit producers.

Significance of Research

This project will provide two documents; 1) A policy brief summarizing major findings for AAFC officials and other policy analysts and 2) A journal article that will present results to a wider audience and guarantee the rigorous nature of the methods chosen.
