Agricultural Policy Research Network

In 2004, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) awarded $3,750,000 over three years toward the development of five Agricultural Policy Research Networks in Canada. They are: Consumer and Market Demand, Farm Level Policy, Canadian Agricultural Trade Policy, Canadian Agricultural Innovation Network and North American Agri-food Market Integration Consortium (NAAMIC).

These networks were introduced to develop strong linkages between policy research and the AAFC policy community by developing and supporting clusters of agricultural policy research at universities across Canada. Goals include: integration of research and policy perspectives; informed debate on key policy issues by having key experts engaged with policy makers; and increased capacity to deliver agricultural policy research through graduate student involvement.
